When it is time to pay for your shipment, it helps to know in advance exactly how we ask for payment and how we get in touch. Keep this page handy — if anything about a payment request looks different from what is described below, it did not come from us.
How we ask for payment
If you pay us through Venmo or Cash App, there is only one account for each:
- Venmo: carshipping-100
- Cash App: $CarShipping
These details stay the same for the whole of your order. We do not ask customers to send money to any other handle, to a personal account, or by gift card, cryptocurrency or wire transfer to an individual.
How we contact you
Our team writes only from our own domain, @sonic-auto.com — for example [email protected] or [email protected]. We do not use Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook or any other free email service for customer correspondence, so an address such as [email protected] is not ours, whatever the signature says.
Worth a second look
Unfortunately the vehicle transportation industry attracts people who imitate real carriers and brokers. A request is worth checking with us first if you notice any of this:
- A message saying the payment details have changed, or asking you to pay a different handle, person or company.
- Pressure to pay immediately to “hold a spot” or “lock in a rate”.
- Email from any domain other than sonic-auto.com, including look-alikes such as sonic-autos.com or sonicauto.net.
- A request for payment by gift card, cryptocurrency or wire to a personal bank account.
- A quote far below every other quote you received, from someone who contacted you first.
When in doubt, call us first
One phone call settles it. Reach us at (530) 648-9041 and we will confirm whether a message, an invoice or a payment request really came from us. There is no charge and no obligation for the call, and we would much rather answer the question than have you wonder.
If you have already sent money to someone claiming to be Sonic Auto Transportation, call us right away and report the transaction to your payment provider — Venmo, Cash App and banks can sometimes act if they are notified quickly.
